Why is it useless to plan your life? Stop searching for your mission.

Reflecting on my own experiences, I have come to realize that much of my time has been spent striving to achieve various goals. Yet, even now, many of these goals remain unfulfilled. Throughout the decades, I was searching for my life's mission.
Maybe you are also in a similar situation. What to do then?

Recently, I sat quietly and analyzed the past period of my life. I always do that. This time, I realized that my life is always about chasing after goal, planning to do next thing. But after achieving it, years pass by striving for the next one. I began to analyze more deeply and came to old question: “What is the purpose of living?” This is a philosophical and ancient question. Each religion and philosophy has its own answer to it. Everyone has their own “truth”.

Climbing a mountain

When I was young, I climbed to the top of the mountain several times. During those times, I walked for 8–10 hours, and with each step, the hill in front of me appeared to be the final. Yet, every time I reached the top, I discovered another, higher hill ahead.

Our life is similar to climbing a mountain — first you will say, “I will reach this point,” Then you will realize that, even more challenges coming next.

During my school years, my goal was to graduate with good grades. Later, throughout college and university, my aim was to study hard, achieve good marks, and get my diploma as soon as possible. The cycle continues with aspirations to find a better job, earn higher salaries, find a life partner, reside in a good house, build my career, traveling, and so on…

The pursuit of goals… this is how we spend our lives until our death! But is this the essence of life? Let’s say, you have achieved everything, then one day you’ll die, and everyone will forget you. Your accomplishments and all your plans will also be forgotten. Trillions of people lived before you, they too had many goals and life plans, but centuries later, they disappeared without a trace

Forger about the result. The process is important.

I’m not saying “live without any goal or plan”. No!, Have a plan or goal. Set a goal. But its outcome is not important; rather, your enjoyment during the process is important. The process itself should bring you pleasure; Otherwise, if you can’t get the expected result, that goal will leave you unsatisfied. Forget about outcome! Whether you achieve it or not, it should not matter to you. For example, you participate in a car race sport. The goal here is to reach finish line. But you must to drive the car as fast as possible, that process should bring you a satisfaction, not just finish line. Reaching the finish line is a secondary matter.

Another example, you ride a bike for a long distance. The journey itself should bring you joy. It’s not about reaching the destination, but about finding pleasure in the journey itself.

Happy man on the bike

Why is the process important? If you care only for result, then you become nervous during the process. What if the result doesn’t turn out as expected? What happens to all the effort you put in? Does time go back? Indeed, life is a great blessing given only once. How correct is it to sacrifice this great blessing for a momentary result?!

Life is all about this PRESENT moment

If your current moment doesn’t bring you joy, the next moment won’t be any different. Because any “future” is a continuation of the current moment. Some spend their entire lives yearning for a “golden future” while ignoring the present moment. Sacrificing the current moment for an uncertain outcome is waste of life. Because you cannot bring back the present. (There’s no such thing as “Ctrl+Z” in life like there is on a computer!)

YOU ARE THE PLAN.

In the film “Breaking Bad,” there’s a phrase: “I’m not in danger, I am the danger.”

For a better understanding, let’s start with the creation of mankind

It is said in the Holy Book:
Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: “I will create a vicegerent on earth.”… (Baqara, verse 30)

God’s plan (or goal) was to create Human (including YOU) on earth.

After the Big Bang, it took billions of years passed until the Earth took its current spherical shape, then billions more years passed for the Earth’s crust to form, suitable for living.
Why did God do all this? To create humans!

To create YOU, too. Think about it! how much preparation did God undertake to make Earth suitable for our existence, spending billions of years on it? The Plan of God was to create YOU.
Yes, not just you, but all of us. In other words, You are God’s plan.

It may sound strange, but in fact, the above verse also says the same, that God planned to appoint humans as vicegerents on Earth and tells the angels about it. So, you are the plan!

All your self-invented “goals” and “plans” are just an excuse to not be bored in the world. Everything will happen by itself. Just enjoy every moment and one day you will return to the Creator. The purpose of living is simply to live. Be the best actor of your life! World is a movie.

If you’ve seen the movie “Pinocchio,” you should know that the skilled craftsman Geppetto created a person out of a piece of wood. His plan was to showcase his talent by creating a wooden person. And by achieving his purpose, he created Pinocchio. So, Pinocchio himself was the plan.

Such words…
